Bill Taylor here. I went to Westwood elementary school and Emerson junior high before my parents moved to San Diego and classmates went on to Uni High. For a homebody who didn’t want to leave West LA, I moved around. Occidental College, Univ. of Michigan, a forty-year teaching and research career in Boulder, Charlottesville, Dallas, and Berkeley, with frequent trips to Mexico and other parts of the U.S. Married sixty years, with two wonderful daughters. Retired in 2008 to mid-coast Maine. Still writing about Mexican history and on my feet much of the time thanks to an energetic dog. I remember the Westwood years and my classmates there especially well.
