Both avid skiers (since retired), fly fishermen, sailors and pilots - I guess having similar interests and views is a key to a successful marriage.
Left CA after the Vietnam War (husband at Presidio, SF) 1974 for Arizona and never looked back.
Retired 1996 to our ranch on the Blue River in high mountains of eastern AZ and have been traveling the world in search of exotic places to observe and photograph birds ever since. Have extensive veggie gardens, orchards and a vineyard - the secret to a healthy lifestyle that keeps us busy late Spring to Fall before winter sets in (6500" elev).
Advice to today's youth: Read rather than using social media. Observe nature rather than playing video games. Stay focused on your goals.
Due to my husband's very recent partial detached retina travel is not possible due to strict restrictions on high or low elevation changes and no flying.
